Imagine if you were the owner of a company and you invented something beautiful, awesomely great, and powerful that would change the entire universe. You would be extremely proud of your accomplishments and you would have every right to be because you had created it with your own mind, your own bare hands, your own toil and sweat. How would you feel if someone else tried to steal it? Think of how you would feel if they claimed it as their own. Think of how you would respond if they tried to destroy it?
God has feelings too.
If He didn’t, He couldn’t love you.The first time the word sin appears in the Bible is in Genesis chapter
four. God already sent Adam and Eve out away from the Garden of Eden. Now, the
couple begins their own family and even though they are no longer allowed to
live in the Garden, notice they are still not out of God’s presence. In Genesis
4:7, God is talking to Cain, a son of Adam and Eve.
Genesis 4:1-7 (NIV)1 Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and
gave birth to Cain. She said, “With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a
man.” 2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain
worked the soil. 3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits
of the soil as an offering to the LORD. 4 But Abel brought fat portions
from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and
his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor.
So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. 6 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is
your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?
But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires
to have you, but you must master it.”
Question 2:The fact that God is still watching over
Eve’s family says what about the character of God toward his people?
